As Project Director at The Street Plans Collaborative, I led research and design of the firm's first volume of the Tactical Urbanist's Guide to Materials and Design. Undertaken with funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, this print and digital resource provides high-quality design and materials guidance for citizen and city-led Tactical Urbanism projects across a spectrum of time intervals - from one day pop-up bike lanes to interim design projects lasting for several years. In my role as project manager for this Guide, I interviewed over 60 practitioners from across the U.S., wrote and designed the PDF Guide, and provided art direction to our wonderful illustrator Jacqueline Norheim. As Project Director at The Street Plans Collaborative, I worked with the San Francisco Planning department to create the Public Space Stewardship Guide - a toolkit for funding, programming and maintenance of public spaces. For this project, I interviewed dozens of public space managers around the country, wrote Guide content, and designed the document. The project explores five models for sustainable public space stewardship; Event-Based Models, Grassroots Partnerships, Public/Private Partnerships, Self-Governing Special Assessment Districts, and Maintenance/Technical Assistance Partnerships. I worked closely with Street Plans sub-consultant MJM Management Group to produce a series of ready-to-use templates for the Guide, including an outline for a public space management plan, maintenance plan templates, and a guide to funding sources. Together with staff at SF Planning, I presented this research project at the 2016 Pro Walk/Pro Bike/Pro Place Conference in Vancouver BC.

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) “Living Beyond Expectations” Lifelong Community Demonstration Project temporarily transformed two blocks of Auburn Avenue in Atlanta’s Historic Old 4th Ward neighborhood into a model Lifelong Community - a healthy, walkable place with housing, transportation and service options for people of all ages. As part of my work at Street Plans, I developed this flyer to brand and advertise the initiative.
